Comments Thread For: De La Hoya: Mayweather Probably Does Fear Losing

I've never understood why some talk about Mayweather's "fear of losing" as if its a bad thing. Most great athletes fear/hate losing a lot more than they enjoy winning. And for a lot of them, the fear of losing they have is so intense its what drives them to be great. I think de la Hoya hit the nail on the head in this statement. Mayweather's gonna fight Pac, but he's gonna do it when he's good and ready. Beating him easily, I'm not as sure of that as I used to be. Mayweather's best beats Pac's best any day of the week and twice on Sunday, easily. But, Mayweather has basically been a part-time fighter the last several years and Pac has remained active. Eventually, not being all-in is gonna catch up with Money. The question is, is Pac the one that can make him pay for recent approach to the sport?Comment

Money is no different from any other fighter that's had a degree of success and is closing in on the end of his career where training becomes a problem. He's said many times over the past couple years that a lot of times he just doesn't feel like going to the gym, and this is when he's in camp for a fight. He says once he gets there, he's fine and trains hard. But the will to go is becoming a problem. He'll be no different from any other fighter who who boxing has become a chore. Once he loses, going out on top will become a priority for him, and he'll hang artound too long (ala Roy Jones) trying to go out with a ****. Its sad that these ridiculously talented individuals don't realize how much they love the sport until they're no longer at their best.Comment

Thats right and that is why he pulled a no man when he was in the ring with Manny.
Which is what matter to boxing fans.
I could careless how much Oscar gets from money.... He could get 90% of Pac money for all I care.
But, every week I watch Pac-Oscar and that my gay ass Dominican friend is priceless.Comment

smh @ these *******s. they actually think anyone will take anything they say serious. Of course mayweather doesn't want to lose! You think Pacquiao isn't afraid to lose? Especially to mayweather???
Like I always say, boxing experts, commentators and pro fighters, retired ones too, KNOW that Mayweather will out box the **** outta pacquiao. I don't understand how these dudes non boxing fans, just pac fans actually try and argue that pacquiao is gonna knock floyd out, etc. The again, these are the same dudes that will probably defend they're hero even when he loses.Comment
