Comments Thread For: German Titov Update: Pirog, Bakhtov, Drozd, More

This summer saw a major breakthrough for the most powerful (domestically) Russian promotional group. German Titov (2007/2008 Russian promoter of the year) and his local partner Kirill Pchelnikov got their first ever world champion after lesser-known (in comparison with American fighters) boxing master Dmitry Pirog had stopped highly regarded American prospect Daniel Jacobs to become the new WBO middleweight champion of the world.

Hopefully Pirog won't wait for a HBO date, it could be a long time and he's already age 30 so he shouldn't waste his prime.

Pirog's team better look long and hard at Pavlik's perfomance on 11/13 before they choose him over Sturm. I have a feeling that Pavlik's problems are over, and he'll go on a wild ass tear next year, just like he did on his way up. Pirog don't want no part of that.

Happy to hear that Drozd is coming back. Had he been busy the last year he may have been able to get into the Cruiserweight super 6. too bad.

Sounds like they're going to give Glazkov some tougher fights after his first 6 now.
