I really like having Larry on the telecast, if just for his quotables, but more and more I'm finding his easily dulled persona terrible for boxing.

It's OK when it's not an all action fight, but Larry wants every fight to be a FOTY candidate. The announcers of a fight can inject enthusiasm into a fight and take away from it. That's not good for boxing.

Larry is a curmudgeonly old man who wears rose tinted specs. However, he's part of the fabric of the sport. And when I stay up all night trying to grab unreliable streams (because Sky don't fork out for enough fights), I want to hear Larry and Co.

Even if he slags Floyd to high heaven.
