I agree, he should retire and take Vivian Harris with him, they will get hurt.

I saw that fight he actually looked good early but dude eventually broke him down.haven't seen the above fight yet but
just four months ago emanuel took plenty of head shots from heavy hitter provodnikov.
looks like augustus is on a suicide mission. thought he would retire after that.
vidclip round 5-9 of the augustus/provodnikov.
round 8-9 are kind of hard to watch. he gets nailed repeatedly. emanuel gets ko'd in 9th big time.i feel for the guy. its worrysome.
provodnikov. another kostya tszyu in the making?

He really deserves better.
Some wealthy promoter needs to wipe out any debts he has and give him a million to retire on.Comment

Guy has been robbed more times than my local gas station.. I agree though, it's time for him to hang'em up, just wish he could've had that last big payday to secure his future. If anyone deserve it, it's our blue collar hero Augustus.Comment

I joined up just to post in this thread!!
What you guys haven't mentioned yet is he's never getting any preparation for these fights. With that one against Provodnikov he had less than a week's notice and had to lose an insane amount of weight in limited time. You could see that he was out of shape. He didn't look good at all.
As for his last fight with Hatley....
(look up The Drunkin" Mastah Speaks on youtube.. it didn't let me post the link)
As he says, he had less than 2 weeks to get ready for this fight, and he feels the judges took it away from him. It's the same old story for Augustus, whether he's 35 or 25. "Prospects" and undefeated youngsters will always get favour over the guy with a "bad" record. It's been happening his whole career.
Give this man proper preparation for a fight and then we will properly judge how much he's got left.Comment

he does but he probably doesnt have another career to fall back on. Wouldnt mind seeing him as a judge or guest ringside commentator.Comment

No offense but its his choice to continue.I dont think fickle fans are in any position to tell any fighters to retire. When a fighter does retire on the top of his game like Lennox Lewis or Rocky Marciano, they call them cowards who did so to avoid other fighters.Comment
