    styles and stances.
not everyone is taught to do that.
it should be taught as a fundamental of boxing but i've noticed that for example, fighters who fight looser with their hands lower tend not to tuck their chin in. also, fighters who rely on rolling punches tend to not tuck their chin in.
its a good thing to do, but not an absolute must.

Some fighters want you to try and aim for it to counter you...with good waist and head movement they can avoid it so they want you to try and chin check them so they could counter you especially if you get tempted to get wreckless...also it might make them feel more relaxed as well...

Pretty uncomfortable to keep your chin tucked. You bascially have to sacrifice speed, power, and change your punching style to do it.

You should get in the gym and see how comfortable you feel throwing punches and keeping your head down and chin tucked at all times the way Hopkins does.

After that, tell me what feels comfortable. You basically have to work against natural tendencies of wanting to keep your head up and a basic rule of boxing to stay looking at you opponent at all times.
