No. He doesnt deserve to fight for the Lineal Championship just because he beat Danny Jacobs.

      Hes not ready yet.

I'd like to see if Pirog gets on HBO again. I think BoxingScene's opinion of him is higher than Ross Greenburg's. Or so I assume.

If pirog or his team think hes ready then hes ready. Nobody on boxingscene or HBO are qualified to question that.
I personally think since he has a title and because he is 30 and he and is team believe in him, he can shout for any fight he wants in the division.

30 isn't old for Eastern Euros because they don't start their career in their teens or early 20s. Almost all of them start at 25/26 or so because that's when they believe their bodies have fully matured.

That's why that elite Ukrainian amateur who's name escapes me at this moment is staying an amateur through the next Olympics even though he's already 21.

Like everyone else I was impressed with Pirog. However it needs to be remembered that he beat a prospect, not a legitimate contender.

They may not start their professional career until late but they stay extremely active and there training is pretty intense.

It's not just fights that break you down, the sparring and training breaks your body down just as much if not more.

These Russian fighters that come here are pretty much finished products. With the amount of amateur fights they have they aren't shy about getting it on with anyone.

Keep Pirog busy with the best fights you can give him IMO.

Vasyl Lomachenko and Pirog had about 240 amateur fights.

Pirog's win got overblown. Jacobs was just a prospect and i didn't have Pirog winning every round either.

He's not ready for Williams/Martinez imo but i think he could go on and give a tough time to Sturm/Sylvester/Golovkin etc.

                      That's another stylistic match up

Yes I think Martinez is going to win, but not easily...
But I did here some stuff.
