It wouldn't change the timing of his "retirement" which will always be there for people to point at. As far as myself, and of course the outcome of his legal problems will determine most of this, if he fights Pac by May of next year then I won't think he ducked Pac. If he fights him by fall of next year, then maybe but he did fight Pac. If it takes longer than that or never happens at all, he ducked him, even if they end up fighting, because Floyd was waiting for Pac to get old.

To duck a man means that you had to fight him, and you didn't..or you just flat out say no. Ducking is not who fans think a fighter should fight, and did not fight... Floyd did not start at 135, 140 or 147, and he has not fought any Top Rank fighters ever since he left Top Rank. I would give him props for fighting Pac, but it dont erase all the ducking in his past.

Its like if a serial murder goes to prison and does 10 years. When he comes out and dont kill anymore. He will still be seen as a murderer, even if he dont kill anymore. He will be given credit for not killing people any longer.

Same for Floyd. He will get credit for fighting Pac and would be given credit for not ducking him anymore.

I'm probably the only Pacquiao fan that feels this way, but honestly I never considered Floyd a "ducker".

I see Floyd as a boxer who could have went down as a top 10 ATG but never challenged himself to be great. Beating Pacquiao helps him, but it doesn't change the fact that he passed on fights that could have greatly increased his legacy.
