Berto couldn't draw a thousand people in his hometown, for a good cause. He is a spoiled *****.

        Thats nonsense.

and for this card they sold 10k tickets and besides Shane most of the fighters didn't get big money.

This actually did better than I expected it to. I thought it would do a little better than Margarito's last PPV numbers(Around 25k).

            probably 500K for endorsements
maybe 500k-1 million for foreign rights
probably 200K for hbo latino rebroadcast rights
maybe 100-200k on licensing and merchandising

that is about $5 million in revenues.

the entire card cost under 2 million in purses.
the marketing and travel and promotions were probably 500K
even with another MILLION in random expenses (camp subsidies, etc)...

...this was still a profitable fight (~ 2 million profit), and they got to promote both ortiz and canelo for future dates.

            good night for gbp

              That is the main thing.

People should not hate on smaller budget PPV's like this one, its the only way to get fights for some of these guys. Even if Shane and the rest took giant paycuts there is no cable tv/network station that would pay even a few hundred thousand to stage this event. So instead of waiting around for HBO/showtime I would rather promoters put on shows like this.

Nah, Berto was out of his mind to ask for 50/50 against Mosley because Mosley is still a bigger draw than him and has more fans than him.

Replace Mosley with Berto on the same PPV card and the card does less than 100K even with Canelo on the card.
