Even if it's 100,000 the card still made money but those numbers are pretty weak. Mosley has never been a big draw and Mora even less, also Mosley only fighting for 2 rounds against Mayweather couldn't help his marketability. The card probably brought in more buyers from the buzz in Canelo and the good under card then the weak main event.

They should also thank Canelo for bringing in all the fans into Staples Center.

100,000 is like $5,000,000 in revenue.

I dunno those are kind of weak but if they made it work and they took care of obligations thay have to fighters it is not all that bad.

It depends on what the final numbers are though, 300k would have been impressive (but highly unlikely) while 200k would be pretty good 150k would have been a reasonable low limit goal.

Yup that dude was the real star of the night, they can bring him back to staples next year and I can see him headlining bringing in a even bigger gate. Guy has a lot of buzz around him.

The thing is half that $5,000,000 goes to the cable companies for carrying the PPV.

              So $2.5 million

I don't know the gate but it was probably close to $700k

Mexican television money which Canelo probably got the bulk of.

Then international television money and sponsorship money. They made a profit but it's really nothing to brag about unless the final number is closer to 200,000.

True, they need to sell at least 175-200K to make a profit because GBP would still have to recoup the money they paid to Mosley, Mora, Canelo, and everyone else.

250K for this fight would be really impressive when you think about it. Two non PPV stars on the main event when they never sold PPV's and the fight had little to no promotion.

                  9-18-2010 Mosley vs. Mora PPV

                  Mosley $1 Million Garanteed

                  Mora - $285,000 - $57,000 weight penalty

Canelo - $200,000, plus money from Mexican television rights

                  Baldomir - $60,000

                  Ortiz - $75,000

                  Harris - $50,000

                  Escalante - $60,000

                  Ponce De Leon - $42,000
That's the payout for the main card so they probably made a profit albeit very small with the 100,000.

going to be interesting to see what the final PPV buys are and what the final paid gate is.

No matter what the final numbers are, GBP was damn lucky that Juanma-Marquez was canceled that night.
