    You ****ing idiot.

When did Arstrong fight for a vacant title against an unranked fighter?

He did fight at a catchweight in which he was still outweighed at the weigh in (not in the ring), by ten pounds and it was against the lineal, number one HOF champion.

    Explain the significance for me?

how much respect will you have for a ANY BOXER that does that
      Vacant belts
as long as the 2 fighters are deserving no problem, dont really like when some fighters are stripped of their belts quickly though and its put up there for someone else when they legit earned the right to hold onto it..

      Catchweights
Dont care so long as the weight isnt the result of a negotiation tactic imposing the weight on the other fighter, does seems somewhat odd to fight for the title in a set weight class say 147 @ 144 but if a guy wants to come in light no problem so long as they dont also force the other fighter to do so..

I agree with that but also I like to see the vacant title holder make a couple of title defenses against top 5 in the division. winning belts overrated defending the titles for a long period is more impressive IMO

Yeah it is and it is becoming a rare thing in boxing to just defend a damn title many times and clean out/stay and dominate a division. Boxing logic is now oooh I have a title now I want to make millions with a huge PPV fight..with someone in another weight class or something.

As long as the fighters and all parties agree, I really could care less about vacant titles at catchweights.

But I am against having two unranked fighters fighting for a belt. Especially when one is a small champion from a lighter division who never fought at the weight and the other guy is coming off a lay off and a boring performance against a journeyman.
