Maidana isn't capable of a plan B. His game is to be a pressure fighter and that's it.

But as long as he gets in shape to go hard for 12 rounds, and as long as he commits to go to the body, he gives himself his best chance of winning.

Why do I expect this to play out similar to Ivan Calderon vs Giovanni Segura....? It's a tough choice, but I am 51% sure Maidana might win by late stoppage...

Maidana just ****in told the boxing world what he was going to do. Not a smart move, as if Khan didn't already have everything at his arsenal. Khan is going to light this guy up like independence day.

Khan's preparation for this fight should be perfect. Roach is going to create the gameplan and he is going to have Pacquiao as his sparring partner. What more could you ask for? except for a decent chin.

Yo, Romey... I'm always nodding my head in agreement to your posts - but I gotta disagree with what you said in the bold. I think that is one of the main things Roach will be working with Kahn on, not to get lurred in to a brawl. Because Kahns chances go up expenintially if he just jabs, pot-shots and moves, I don't see Kahn purposely staying in and brawling at any point with Maidana. He won't make the same mistake he did with Prescott IMO. I think he'll do a lot of what he did to Paulie, when Paulie got in close he grabbed and pushed down on his head and neck (A LOT). Maidana will have to reset each time, and that takes a lot of energy. Kahn is going to want to prove himself at some point, but after he feels Chinos punches I think he will change his mind. And, Roach is going to keep reminding him to box, box, box.

If Kahn follows Roachs directions, I have a feeling we may be seeing a reinactment of FMJ/Baldomir. I hope not though. I still think it will be an exciting fight though cause Kahn is no Floyd and Maidana has more power than Baldy, and I don't think Kahn will be able to keep it up for 12 full rounds. I hope Maidana can.

I see what your saying..If Khan can follow the plan for 12 Khan should win..But I like Maidana chances at catching and hurting Khan..If Khan gets hurt I'm interested into how he will survive??

I fear for Khan in this fight, Paulie M isnt known as a big hitter and Khan was marked up in their fight, I just hope Maidana doesnt land that much punches on Khan like Paulie M did.

I agree with Dave Rado and Lorily, Paulie is under-rated..... he is highly skilled, but feather-fisted..... Paulie could get to Khan, but Amir knew that he could take Paulie's punches, so the mindset was different.

Khan will need to control distance much better than he did with Paulie, he will need to win the fight with his jab. But he will have to make Maidana pay for his mistakes, and he will have to control the fight..... Khan can't afford to go into his shell once the leather starts to fly.

IMO Khan needs to be defensive-minded, obviously..... but he should be looking to touch Maidana up, right from the first round.

And Maidana is no Paulie, he is going to have to work to cut off the ring, and he is going to have to go to the body. This is a classic boxer vs puncher, and when the universe is correctly aligned, a top boxer should win - the rule slides back toward the puncher as the skill level of the two fighters decreases accordingly - but that equation doesn't factor in a suspect chin or a split liver
