I caught up with two-time UFC
heavyweight champion Frank
Mir during the media workouts
for his upcoming fight against
Mirko 'Cro Cop' Filipovic this
Saturday for UFC 119 at the
Conseco Fieldhouse in
downtown Indianapolis.
Mir's advantage against Cro Cop
would be his conditioning and
ground game as the Croatian
MMA legend has shown signs of
wear and tear since moving to
the UFC. But Mir would be the
first to say he is not afraid to
engage Cro Cop in a slugfest as
he's shown improved striking in
his last few fights.
In his last victory against Cheick
Kongo at UFC 107, Mir knocked
down the taller Frenchman with
an overhand left hook that he
called "The Pacquiao". I asked Mir
the story regarding that punch
and he broke it down for me in
this exclusive interview that you
can view by clicking on the
streamed video to the left. Mir
also discussed his strategy
against Cro Cop and backed
away a bit from his earlier trash
talk and regarded his opponent
as a dangerous fighter.
