Getting new younger fans has always been an issue and it hasn't been adressed. It's great DiBella recognises the problem but he won't do **** to fix it.

He's absolutely right. But the only way to progress is by getting rid of the old model and getting new blood in there. The current model won't be gone until powerful promoters like Bob Arum and Don King are out of the picture.

Boxing also needs the sanctioning bodies of this sport to actually create a list of sensible rules, FOLLOW THEM, and the championship belts that they dish out should actually mean something. The WBC and WBA should be obliterated.

I couldn't agree more wit Lou. What needs to be done first IMO is that ****** MUDDA****IN STIGMA about losing. Who ****IN cares if you lose. IF you do, you get right back up and keep going. What happened to Brock Lesner in his first Debut? he got his ASS kicked by a guy 2 inches shorter and 30 lbs lighter. Same with GSP, he lost to Matt Sera. The thing with UFC is that even their most ELITE fighters lose occasionally. Even Fedor, who lost recently. Do you think he'll have any less fans show up for his next fight? We need to somehow establish that to these young fighters today in boxing. My coach always tells me "a Perfect fight record is another way of saying you never fought the best at the right time"

If we didnt have the ***in Primadonas like Floyd who claims to be the best and take easy fights we'd be cooking again.

We need latter day Sugar Ray, wee need suicidal durans, we need to have heavyweights coming in at 220lbs again, we need to make 'super fights' as regular fights, we need to bring back that excitement, and fighters need to quit playing it safe and start going for kos at all costs.

i agree with Dibella fully, and when he said there may not be boxing in 5 years, i felt this ugly feeling in my stomach. I mean think about it, once the old vets leave the ring, will the young bloods capture the imagination of the fans?

this is a serious topic here, boxers need to stop ****ing around and beg the promoters for big fights at gun point.

fix this **** once and for all.

The money in boxing is killing boxing, But i dont and cant blame anyone, The networks need to make any money that they invest back and they wouldnt do that with unknown prospects, They would do that with Known names, Thats why we see more older fighters still in boxing than young bloods coming through.

We need a new set of fans and at the moment i dont think boxing generate the number of fans that MMA generate in the last 2 years, i hope am wrong..

Sorry i fail to see how Floyd is the problem??.....he generates interest from casual fans and has averaged a mil in his last handful of fights......he has almost a million followers on twitter....alot of whom don't know **** about boxing, but tune in when Floyd fights......i fail to see how he is the problem.

Blame the promoters and networks..........they are short sighted........!!!!!!

Boxing needs something it doesn't have that it needs to survive...a BRAND.

The NFL is a brand...the UFC is a brand. The UFC sells PPV's because it's the UFC not always because of who's fighting. The UFC has instilled confidence in it's fans that it will put the best fights together whenever they can.

Boxing only sells because of who's fighting. And in reality there aren't very many intriguing fights to bring the people out.

And don't anyone say HBO is a brand because a bunch of old guys in tuxes doesn't sell **** these days. They are using the same tired model for the past 30 years.

It's not enough anymore. I understand the allure of the culture of boxing though. Weird, oddball and crooked stuff happens all the time that doesn't in other sports. It's got a strange dark allure to it.

But the sport needs to be streamlined. Too many belts, promoters, organizations. It's a fractured sport. It's on the verge of being on par with horse racing. Do we really want that? A sport in which only cab drivers and the dregs of humanity are interested in?
