wtf is the wbc silver championship? do chavez actually considers himself a champion with that paper belt. these diamond and silver and interm belts need to go and add more confusion on the sport. its bad enough with 4 major titles in each division. now we got super and interm and diamond and silver belts. floyd was right belts do nothing but collect dust

You are the one crying not me, Im fine with a Chavez fighting either Gomez or Cotto because either way it's a step up in compatition.. But all you Ricans can do is ***** and cry about it so why would i take anything you say seriously when Junior could fight God himself and you would still say hes being protected. I mean thats all you ricans are good at, making excuses!

I hear that. The man will fight anyone at any weight. Watch him take this fight at 164 catchweight lol. If the fight is at middleweight I see Gomez weighing no more then 157 considuring he has been weighing around 145 for his last few fights.

          Hope he upsets Jr.

Tactical Speed and Intensity with Gomez

Chavez doesn't bring much other than reach and bit of size but Gomez will be quick as he was against Karass, and brutal as he was agasint Gatti. Manny has showed you can give up a little size but counter with fierce combinations, and hitting first and often. Chavez is going down in 8 or 9. Irish Ed

No one is really ever "ready" for JCC Jr. They're just next.

We're talking about a 6'0 middleweight against a 5'8 welterweight. Unless that welter is Floyd Mayweather, we're talking mismatch.

I aree with Scott here on the size. Gomez is not a "little bit smaller" then Chavez, he is a lot. I would say 15-20 pounds fight night if it is at 160. Gomez will be no bigger then 162 fight night and Jr will be anywhere from 175-180 easily once rehydrated.

Incredible lack of judgement!! Chavez is a beast??? He has fought part-time fighters , part-time Domino's take-out guys. He finally gets Freddie to train him for a few weeks to fight slower than molasses John Duddy! So, Chavez learned enough in 40 bouts to go the distance against a journeyman. Well, call Gomez a journeyman, but one with skills and a heart, and the it factor. Remember that Gatti used Gomez as a "tune-up for Chavez"- whoops something happened. Gomez will KO this guy in the 8th or 9th. I will enjoy watching Jr. eat crow after the fight for saying,"they need a tuneup and more time to promote the Chavez-Cotto fight." Thanks for signing Julio regardless of motivation but get ready to get your ass whoooooped!
