I'be been waiting for Berto to take a chance against the Clottey, Cintron type of fighters but he just won't step it up. The Quintana fight was a good win but not outstanding cause Quintana did do anything since the Williams KO. You just don't hear him saying that he wants Mosley again, Williams or try one of the many tough opponents of 154 or 140.

that's more then Berto has done and he's supposed to be a champion at 147. Not that i'm hating because Cintron and Clottey are pretty down on my list of top fighters due to their current lack luster performances
The thing is these guys have fought many more good fighters than you even mentioned...

      Again:

Clottey: Ws over Judah, Corrales, ect Close Ls to Margarito and Cotto (I thought he was robbed that night), a DQ loss the Baldomir when he was in his prime and an L to Pac man

Cintron: W over Angulo, Draw with Sergio, Whatever that was with Paul Williams and 2 KO Ls to Tony Marg

Berto has more talent than both, but I believe both guys would beat him because of their pedigree of being in the ring with much better opposition...

        What pass?

Have you been on here lately?

Berto has like the least amount of fans for someone that's been on TV as much as him. He gets rightfully bashed in every thread his name is in.

I've read he negotiated himself out of a fight with Shane, the second time round. Didn't want to accept anything other than 50/50 with Shane; a fighter who'd just had all the exposure of a 24/7 PPV fight - who would, no doubt, have brought more to the fight, in terms of exposure. When you have everything to prove, like Berto, there are only so many shots you should/can call.

That what I've been saying that he has not invested in a fight that can get his name higher and ppl talking cause what he think he is worth. HBO is backing him and a fight like that I'm sure they will pay for, time continues to pass and he is wasting time

I used to like Berto as a young fighter with potential. Now that I have seen that he hasn't improved at all over his last few fights and now he is acting like a broad and not fighting anybody decent to hell with him. I mean Berto hasn't done anything to feel justified in holding out of fights for more money and he is not good enough to be out this long and it not affect him.

Never understood all the hate for Berto, yeah he could step up his game up a little but its not like he's been fighting bums his whole career. Berto's one good win away from being a legit star, just hope he's using this layoff to work on his stamina and defense.

If Berto fought better guys he would get beaten then HBO would lose marketability for their hypejob they put so much time into.

Berto-Cotto would be good and so would a rematch with Collazo.

Kermit Cintron and Joshua Clottey are both better than Andre Berto and would give him a pasting if they ever fought.Andre Berto is a poor boxer, with terrible technique and no durability. He's the typical black fighter that boxing fans confuse with having great skills simply based on the fact that he's fast and athletic.

People continually mock Cintron, but atleast the guy has taken risks in his career.Atleast Cintron is willing to take fights with dangerous opposition.Clottey can be frustrating as hell to watch, but he's shown that he can compete at the very top with his showings against Antonio Margarito and Miguel Cotto - a level that Berto hasn't come close to competing at.

The guy's a six year pro, twenty seven years old and still being treated and protected like a prospect - and it's a disgrace. No true boxing fan has any respect for someone like Andre Berto - he exemplifies everything that is wrong with out sport.

Pure hype is all he is.
