Well yes, but it doesn't make Quintana a champion fighter. I don't understand why being chosen for a vacant fight makes him a more worthy opponent than Malignaggi or Torres.

I voted for Quintana b/c of how he knocked him out. Such a brutal body shot, Carlos probably pissed blood for a week. He was coughing up blood immediately. I also agree that Cotto was even or possibly losing at that point which makes it more exciting. I'd rate Torres 2nd b/c at that point I thought Torres was the man.

The Malinaggi fight left me impressed with Malinaggi. I expected Cotto to win and was surprised how much heart Paulie showed and that he managed to make it to the final bell.

He was just simply a better fighter than both of them.

            ahh now I got ya...

well, not necessarily but a fight for a major title is bigger and whats more important Quintana just beat the young and undefeated Joel Julio and Cotto moved up in weight to beat this guy.
and torres for expample hasnt fought real good name like Julio.

You are right. It wasn't until after the Cotto fight that Torres beat Mighty Mike and Holt.

The Julio win is more important than the fight being for a vacant title.

It's ironic that people are voting for Malignaggi if that is the litmus test, because he hadn't beaten anyone before Cotto.

Only Quintana's win over Julio and Foreman's win over Santos are the only quality wins that any of the six options brought to the table before the Cotto fight.

Maligaggi id say was his toughest...just cause Paulie got KD early on and Cotto went for KO but ended up going the 12

plus he moved up in weight what makes him a pound for pound fighter, too.

so Foreman who beat Santos and Q. who beat Julio were also your votes?

I voted Quintana because he beat Williams, which I feel is the best win of all the fighters listed. The Julio fight doesn't hurt him either.
