... here's my favourite two, can't quite decide which one I like best yet, but check out these two beauties, both witnessed on Da Scene:
1. Parris cover up. In the second round the referee took both Kostya and Ricky to the centre of the ring, put his arm around both of them and spoke to them both to clean it up.
The conspriracy: This was an obvious ploy of Parris - he was really just telling off Kostya, but pretended to tell Ricky off as well just to make it look convincing.
2. Hatton's "Secret Signals" In many fights a boxer will get tangled against the ropes, unable to move his arms, and not wanting to extricate himself by doing something illegal. So he'll look towards the ref to initiate a break.
The conspiracy: In this case it was a pre-planned arrangement between Hatton and a referee who'd worked with Hatton on less than a handful of fights. He'd look at Parris as a masonic signal in order for him to move in, completely different in arrangement to when this normally happens.
