18 Month Layoff 100% Responsible for Shane's Loss to Floyd

Mosley was still in his prime when he beat Margarito. Even though he was relatively old, this still held true.

What made Shane lose to Floyd was not his age or the possibility that he was "shot". 100% of the reason Shane lost to Floyd was the historic level of inactivity that he experienced in between the Margarito fight and the Floyd fight. The Shane that lost to Floyd was no more than 25% the Shane that beat Margarito.

The Mora fight proves this beyond a shadow of a doubt. He was actually better against Mora than against Floyd. But of course, it was too late by then because his age finally caught up and replaced inactivity as the primary reason he was no longer the man he used to be.

Mayweather's victory over Mosley was not legit. It was against a welterweight champion who held the record for holding on to a world title with the longest layoff in the history of the welterweight division.

Yes, Shane hit a "second wind" prime on the eve of the Margarito fight. But he fell off it due to insane inactivity during the Floyd fight.

Shane did not look good in his fight against Mayorga. Everybody remembers the knockout, but until that LATE knockout, it was a very close fight.

And we are talking about Mayorga.

Shane's last great fight was against Cotto.

Shane basically came out of retirement and he knock Floyd out in 2 rounds.

Yea right,Mosley wasnt allow to throw punches for next 10 rounds.

Everyone know that De La Hoya staged that fight just like he staged Mosley vs Mora.

Like you I like Manny but if Shane connected with the same punch he landed on Floyd then I think Manny would have also been in some serious mess.

Shane's impressive win over Margarito was misleading as Margarito was in no fit mental state and had taken a beating from Cotto.

But during his fight with Margarito he experienced the career version of a "second wind" - a second prime, if you will. But he didn't take advantage of the resurgence by going on an18 month layoff which made him essentially a top 30 welterweight by the time he met Mayweather.

                    That's what I also think.

However, we'll see when Margo faces Pac if he is indeed a bum who used plaster (as I think he is).
