Just watched the fight, and scored it 116-112 for Mosley. No clue how it was scored a draw
The fight felt like Mosley-Mayorga - it was hard to watch (if it wasn't Shane fighting, i wouldnt have). He looked very sloppy (uncoordinated) and although he definitely won (just outworked Mora, who just didn't do enough to win more than 4 rounds) he didn't look impressive. Was it just me or was Shane's power not there either, maybe because of the weight?
Having said that, Mora was completely the wrong style, and i honestly think against Berto at 147 or Cintron/Cotto II/Angulo at 154 he would be very competitive and could beat those guys. Keep him away from the Martinez/Mayweathers of this world though. I don't think he'd be able to beat Pac/PW at this age either, even though their styles suit him perfectly. The power to take PW out isn't there, and i can't see him hurting Pac or outboxing him from what i've seen today (i'm one of the people who would have loved to see Pac-SSM 1-2 years ago)
Props to Shane for giving it his all, the HBO commentators were spot on
and Mora doesn't ever deserve a big fight after that pathetic display in his first fight on the big stage. I'm still not sure how he got a shot
And one more thing, people seem to be forgetting about how good Shane used to be in his prime. I've heard stuff like he'd get beat just as bad against May in his prime - Go back and watch him pre-Forrest, HE COULD BOX. You don't beat a great boxer like ODLH in his prime without serious boxing skill, and if you watch that fight you'll see a good jab, amazing hand and footspeed, head movement and sharp crisp punches. Even at age 39, i don't think anyone in the world will KO him, and he's not finished provided he stays away from slick boxers or guys who are too big for him. I'm still a fan
one big win against a big name brawler and then he can retire with a big payday
