Nathan Cleverly vs Glen Johnson

I believe this fight would be a great introduction to world level boxing for Nathan Cleverly.

Glen Johnson, despite his age, has proved that he is a tough fight for anybody at light heavyweight and while he isn't getting any younger, he would certainly represent a step up in class for Cleverly.

In my opinion, Cleverly has all the tools needed to beat Johnson. He has a great jab, fast hands, good power, aggressive punch output, and punches from a wide variety of angles. The combination of his youth, skills, and aggressiveness makes him one of the sports most exciting prospects.

So what do you think? Is Johnson a good fight for Cleverly to take at this time, or is he too much too soon? A lot of people may disagree with me, but I feel Cleverly would win a UD by a very wide margin.

I agree. This would be an interesting matchup.

If Cleverly beats Braehmer and has the WBO title, I'm sure a defense against Johnson can be arranged.

I think its a waste of time.

There's nothing to be proven by beating Glen Johnson at this point. He's probably still tough, but his skill's have visibly deteriorated in the last couple years.

All these old guys have got to gtfo already.

Cleverly is ready to step up now. He should start working on cleaning out the division.
