Culiacan, Mexico - Controversy broke out in the aftermath of Jorge Arce's draw with Lorenzo Parra on Saturday night. The fight was initially announced as a draw to the live crowd and the television audience, but no scores were revealed. Later, the Sinaloa Boxing Comsission changed the result to a split decision win for hometown hero Arce. The scores have yet to be disclosed, but a commission member claimed there was an error in the way the seventh round was scored for Parra. The fight was a WBO super bantamweight elminator. Arce is now in position to fight champion Wilfredo Vazquez Jr. of Puerto Rico.
