I thought Hatton recently said that he hadn't retired so why is he now using it as an excuse!?I used to be a fan of his but i have lost all respect for him now especially as he is now using depression as an excuse for being caught doing drugs.Depression is a serious mental illness & for him to conveniently use it as excuse for his behaviour is PATHETIC!!!

This is no excuse but it is not so far fetched when fighters past their prime seemed to be bored with life after they leave the ring soon after they peak.

There are countless boxers who have done the same, still not an excuse but still not uncommon from many fighters we love past and present.

Why does he make an excuse for everything? His drinking problem and going up and down in weight led to his retirement.

Poor excuse, How many times did Hatton come out to say he isnt retired? He even did another recently, He need to stop making excuses and clean himself out. He has a great gym, a promotion company and other things that he seem to be doing so just do that and enjoy your life without drugs or binge drinking.

Another thing is didnt he once say he would never end his career like Naz? Well unless he fight one more time and wins he wouldnt look any different than the way Naz went out.

This is actually the norm for superstars when they retire. It's hard when the cheers die down. Boxing is not the answer, and although I expect to see him back in the ring, I hope he seeks counciling for life outside the game. Giving interviews isn't the best idea at this time, with the media, the tear down is always worse than the build up. Good luck Ricky
