Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum confirmed a story that was broken on Thursday by BoxingScene.com's Rick Reeno, who reported Top Rank's possible plan to create a doubleheader on December 4 in Atlantic City with Miguel Cotto and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in separate fights.

Now that the Cotto vs. Chavez fight got delayed I don't think it will happen. I think Top Rank wants Cotto to be ready to fight the Pacquiao vs. Margarito winner so if Cotto wins in December 4 he'll get a chance to. Think about it, if Manny beats Margarito they can market the rematch as unification bout (since both Manny & Cotto would have belts) and if Margarito upsets Pacquiao they still get an unification bout plus they got the whole rematch angle to work cause of what the plaster story. It's a win/win situation for Top Rank.

If Top Rank goes ahead with the Cotto vs. Chavez fight in Spring I would assume its only if they can make Manny vs. Floyd.

cotto is a washed up loser that at one very breif time was great, a cotto fight for jr is nothing special.duck cotto my ass. now if jr had to fight someone like martinez then then u could say it is a duck, but cotto??? didnt a 5ft 6 midget beat cotto till he looked like a monster??? why would a decent punching solid chin, 6ft tall , young rising star be afraid of that chump??? no reason in the world.I wouldnt bet a bean and cheese taco on cotto at this point.chavez may not be his dad but hes got the best trainer in the world, and he doesnt know how to lose hes 41-0 ill go with chavez on that fight 100%. cotto gonna take another knee or 3.

Probably a pipe dream, but how sick would it be to see both Lopez-Gamboa & Cotto-JCC at Yankee Stadium the night before the Puerto Rican day parade? I'm not getting my hopes up FM-MP yet.
