Pavlik should seriously consider upgrading to a new trainer. Freddie Roach would work wonders with him and maximize his abilities.

Pah, our boy Hatton sometimes entered camp at 200. Pavlik's an amateur in terms of making weight the wrong way ;-)

Any trainer besides Jack Lowe would be an improvement. I know Pavlik is trying to be loyal, but he's already learned all he could from Lowe. He's been with him since he was a kid.

Roach really could do him wonders. Emmanuel Steward would also be a good trainer for Kelly's size and abilities.

Pavlik should have moved up to 168, but if he wants to be taken seriously at 160, he should pursue a Martinez rematch. Otherwise, whats the point? You gonna shoot for being number 2 the rest of your career. Makes no sense.

He really should just move up.

If Jack Lowe is such a bad trainer and Steward is such a good trainer. How in the world did Pavlik beat Taylor?

Better fighter that night. And the stamina and grit that Pavlik has.

Trainers are a big deal, but during fight night, it's up to the fighter to execute what the trainer was teaching him.

Btw, Taylor pissed off Steward a lot because he never listened.

                    Pac vs Pavlik at 164

One of Pavliks problems is although he made it to the big time in boxing he always kept a small time team. He needed a better trainer, physical coach etc etc etc etc Not sure he just overconfident or not taking it seriously but he needs to get it together.

Lowe trained a somewhat limited fighter to become middle weight champ. I don't think Steward or Roach would be much better for a fighter like Pavlik.
