    Maidana is gonna stop khan

Now that the fight is made I can give my honest assessment. Some of you may know that I am a pretty big khan fan, fighters with his kind of talent do not come around very often on this side of the pond, anyway I have been watching a lot of maidana video and he is much better than I originally gave him credit for. His punches are actually quite compact and throws a variety of punches from different angles. He also has a decent jab, at this stage its hard to gauge how much of gulf in class their will be between khan-maidana, as so far in his career maidana has never faced anyone as quick and as talented as khan (yes including ortiz), regardless in my opinion khan will hit adversity at some point in the fight and that is gonna be his big problem.

Before I really studied maidana's style I thought khan would be able to avoid an onslaught for the full 12 rounds but now I believe that is not possible, and I think he will come unstuck. Not only this but there is always a chance that maidana can catch him with a single shot, he actually throws some pretty decent counter right hands and uppercuts if his opponent falls in or fall short with their jab. I just think maidana is all wrong for khan and it will almost certainly end in a ko/tko. I would love to see khan box his ears off, to a decision but I think there is very slim chance of that happening, I think he has a better chance of stopping maidana, it is very important if khan wants to win that he stings or hurts maidana early on. I don't know maybe im underestimating khans boxing ability and he has a level that I haven't seen.

Unless Maidana is able to lure Khan into a street fight, NO. In his last fight He couldnt' handle a very old and border line shot Chop Chop. He didn't show much skills or punching power against a good boxer and that's going to hunt him until He starts working to learn more skills. He was lucky the fight was in Argentina because HE would of lost any where else.

Based on his last fight, He will be taken to school by the better boxer Khan.

maidana could take khan's heart and do some career long damage to him

however khan has the speed and perhaps the power to stop maidana

khan needs to start fast and not let maidana get off

something tells me khan will be on the canvas at least once in this fight tho, win or lose

I hope your right, but the one thing that chop chop and even kotelnik have in common is that they both were hit with bombs in the fight, and both had moments in the fight where they were hit with an onslaught of combinations and power punches, and thats where I feel the problem is...is khan so good that he can avoid these situations? That is the big question, and in my mind...no. Basically because he is young and still makes the odd mistake, most fighters do, but when your against a huge puncher you can only make mistakes if you have good punch resistance and khan does not...but you never know, im sure freddie will have him ready.

Well one thing we do know is that khan will not stay down if he can help it, he certainly has the heart to get back up and win. Hopefully khan has learnt from the prescott experience that he should hold and try and survive the moment when he is hurt rather than trying to fire back.

Yes, Maidana got his power shots on Chop Chop, but nothing happened. Maidana's best performance was against Ortiz, a fighter-boxer. Ortiz has good skills, but He stops and trade and when He did, HE couldn't handle Maidana, the street fighter. In that fight Maidana had the perfect style to beat Ortiz.

Khan's style is far from Ortiz because He can fight his fight all night without exchanges. Chop Chop exposed Maidana inability to change his strategy. He was not succeeding, but kept doing the same until the last bell.

Unless I'm missing something, Maidana is a very strong puncher with little boxing skills and should be outboxed easy by the better boxer.

Yeah he is relentless this is the problem, when your hurt or your opponent is hurt it sometimes only takes even a glancing shot to finish them off.

Well I think what you might be missing is that the people who think that maidana is gonna win like me don't think khan will be able to survive those moments that corley did...in my mind its whether he can avoid them altogether, and you believe he can which is why you think he will win. Im of the opinion that khan hasn't ever shown that he can handle a pressure fighter of the calibre of maidana with that kind of power and intensity, and even the guys who have had success and beat maidana did it through adversity. Its an interesting fight...we can talk after the fight.
