My trainer has trained boxers for about 40 years and he is from Ireland and his kids won the Chicago Golden Gloves about three or four times and the gym he trains boxers at is mostly all white but some Mexican I do not know if you can find a boxing gym without some Mexicans in it lol. But he always states that "Boxing is a hood Sport" and that "Boxing lives and breathes in the ******." He said the sport is dominated by Black and Hispanic fighters who come from poverty and give boxing their life as a vehicle to get out of the hood. He said he has seen this happen since the 1960's and it will continue to be the case. He said the reason they dominate is because of the hunger and desire they have that separates them from other fighters. What do you all think?
Boxing Lives in the ******.

It goes past the 60s and all the way to the beginning of modern boxing when the poorest imigrants were the ones flooding boxing.
At the beginning of the century it was the Irish, Italians, Blacks, and the ***s to a lesser extent. Now it's Hispanics, Blacks, and to a lesser extent Asians.Comment

Uh I dont think so, its just that running a gym is expensive and you dont make money off boxers unless they make it big time. Most people have gyms in ******s because its dirt cheap to run a gym there. Thats why you see most of the gyms in ******s or even in industrial areas.
Thats why you either see gym's in dumps with real trainers or those mega gyms with weight's / pilates / a spa those are the P*SSY gyms where posers train.
If you want the best gym then find the dirtiest and smelliest one with the oldest equip.Comment

I went by my city's guetto and I didn't see any boxers. Those depresion times have been gone for decades. Today there's boxers from every class. With all the millions at stake, everybody is joining the sport, from the riches to the poor folks.Comment
