Armstrong Would Have Won 6 Titles Today

Armstrong's range was featherweight to welterweight (probably as high as light middleweight) in today's boxing environment. That's 6 weight divisions, namely:

    featherweight
    jr. lightweight
    lightweight
    jr. welterweight
    welterweight
    light middleweight (?)

Pacquiao's range is flyweight to jr. middleweight:

    flyweight
    jr. bantamweight
    bantamweight
    jr. featherweight
    featherweight
    jr. lightweight
    lightweight
    jr. welterweight
    welterweight
    light middleweight (?)

In hindsight, Pacquiao made a mistake by-passing several titles that he could have won. He would have had 9 titles by now - even before fighting Margarito.

If Pacquiao were in Armstrong's era, his range would be:

    flyweight
    bantamweight
    featherweight
    lightweight
    welterweight

Arguably, 5 titles for Pacquiao during Armstrong's era.

Armstrong challenged for the MW title and received a questionable draw.

And, there was only 1 belt at the time. So Pac more than likely would had not won 7 nor 8 titles fighting in Armstrong era

He lost in his quest to win the NBA portion of the middleweight title. If Armstrong were in his prime today he would have probably won jr. middleweight too. But I doubt he would have won middleweight. Thus, his range today would be featherweight through jr. middleweight. And yes, most of his titles will be alphabet titles with some "lineal titles" sprinkled in like Pacquiao.

Yeah, but the competition was weaker back in those times.
I mean, when you watch Armstrong fights, his opponents look really slow flat footed and unskilled.

Not necessarily. Ross was an all-time top 100 great but Petey Sarron and Lou Ambers aren't. David Diaz and Ricky Hatton aren't top 100 all time great but Morales, Marquez, Barrera, and possibly Cotto (?) are.

Cerifino Garcia was the lineal champ. So lets forget about the portion of the MW title. It was thee MW title. And, it was a questionable draw. Most people had Armstrong winning.

And, if there were major 4 titles and 17 divisions back then who knows how many titles in how many divisions he would of won.

                  No it was not.

                  Competition is weak now.
