    Been Watching Maidana Kotelnik..

Its a proper boxing match unlike the Ortiz fight, the pace is a bit slower than how I expect Khan Maidana to be but theres something else.

I get to the end of that fight. Theres barely a mark on Maidana's face. He gets shook up a couple of times but his face is clean. Maidana fights like a cat, he reminds me of Pacquiao a lot. The angles, the pressure the leaning forward, the weird leg movements almost like a Thai boxer, strong calves. This is nothing like Ortiz at the Staples centre either the fights in some place in germany and you an almost hear a pin drop during the fight. there is no atmosphere and it feels like a fix at the end of it.

In my book, Maidana is unbeaten. I said in another thread he has a puncher's chance but he has more than that. The man boxes in a very unique style.

I'm still backing Khan as he'll have Pacquiao et al to teach him a few tricks but Khan is going to have to train hard to beat this man.

I honestly can't wait for this fight and I pray for Khan.

          A combination of things.

His leg movement, his stance, the angles he is throwing punches and the way he is throwing them. No big swings, no hooks. Just jabs and crosses.

Its nothing like the Ortiz fight and I think Khan's style will be closer to Ortiz come fight night.

Interesting thread. Maidana is a fascinating fighter to watch. He does a lot of subtle things in there that go unnoticed and he's a very dynamic offensive puncher with lots of creativity particularly the way he throws his uppercuts and body shots.

I also feel he beat Kotelnik, but it was a very close and competitive fight.

Khan will definitely have to use his legs a lot in this match.

I think it was fixed to cause this hype thats going on...

Problem with the fight with Ortiz was the boy never stuck to the gameplan. That was a conscious decision.

I'm pretty sure Khan will. I'm just worried about his guard. It doesn't matter how fast you are you're gonna get caught and his guard has to be good.

Still Khan is gonna be sparring with Ortiz too and that boy can throw a punch to match Maidana's. Maybe not at those angles though.

man.. he doesn't have anything related to muay-thai fighter, he leans forward a lot, his leg movement and shots he throu dont stay even close to kick/thai boxer.

Have you seen the fight I'm talking about?

He changes stance very often. He is on the back foot and pivots to change stance.

it was a hometown win for Kotelnik. not really a "stolen" decision.

Maidana drops his left guard way too much when throwing the 1-2 combo. Anyone with a bit of counter punch ability will easily expose his flaws. He leans in to punch, and inevitably puts his weight all on his front foot. Check hooks will knock him down.

Kotelnik caught him clean with some straights and jabs, but that's about it. Chino pressured the entire fight.

You can keep Maidana away with counter jabs and straights...and probably take a wide UD if you really prepare for it.
