Actually, Marquez called him out to a catch-weight of 142-144 sadly Mayweather didn't come in at 143 and as for Gomez looking better than Floyd against Castillo, same thing can be said about Jorge Arce knocking out the guy that KO'd Manny in 1 or 2 rounds.

The final contract was for a welterweight fight.He was still a pound under the limit on the weigh in and paid Marquez. I still remember Marquez saying how much stronger he felt before the fight and how confident he was...

Every fighter should be allowed a tune up fight when coming back from long lay-offs as Floyd did,and it happens in most cases,against less quality opponents than Marquez.
I'm not sure why people hold Floyd to different standards.Sure,he came in 2 pounds over the first initial contracted weight-if it was something JMM thought would change the outcome-he could have not signed the final contract,nor accepted further money and cancelled the fight all together.Is there ANYONE out there that thinks the 2 pound difference lost Marquez the fight,or was it Floyd's style?????

They didnt change the contract,Floyd came 2 pounds over and he paid 600000 dollars to Marquez!

I think that Margarito is same size as Foreman.

Floyd didn't call out Marquez, he seized the opportunity to take that fight being he had a clear advantage and knew JMM (if he wanted the fight) would have to move up to Welterweight to fight him. The problem I had was Floyd purposely not making weight. JMM was at a clear disadvantage anyway you look at it.

I never understood why Floyd didn't jump into a fight with Mosley in his return fight.
