    When did this happen and at what weight. My friend told me that this happened. Please tell me the third ranked fighter in the world didn't lose to that guy

      Chris' style wasnt easy to handle for Marquez.
      close fight, I think, also it was in Indonesia.

          No it wasnt, JMM lost that fight...To the threadstarter JMM fought John in indonesia for 30,000 Dollars to defend his featherweight belt after his manager/trainer Nacho turn down a Pac rematch of 750,000 Dollars..

              I watched that fight and thought John won. It was a very close fight though.

              If you go into someones back yard, you had better dominate him if you want a decision. I thought Marquez underestimated John and paid the price.

                It was a very close fight, i think i had John by a round or something. He has an awkward style and it was a weird fight choice for Marquez. But Chris John in his prime was a good fighter and it's not like he dominated Marquez or anything.

                    It was a lackluster effort on both sides, but especially for Marquez, who was fouling a lot and had points taken off. Not signature Marquez, that's for sure.
