You say he's only 19 years old & ask ¿what to expect from him? Well for 1 he's actually 20 tears old & extremely over hyped & with 34 or more fights(Canelo claims he has over 40 fights) under his belt & ONLY 1 KNOWN fighter in that whole resume, cause the rest are TOMATO CANS!!! & that known fighter(José Cotto) fought him 3 weight category's above his normal weight(Cotto is a natural lightweight & fought Canelo at jr middle) & Canelo had a good reach & height advantage over Cotto & with all those advantages(for Canelo) Cotto almost KO'd Canelo in the 1st & even thou Canelo was winning the fight, it was stopped way prematurely so el Canelo could look better!! Now to answer your question--->age doesn't mean anything especially after 30 or 40 fights-->proof--> Wilfredo Benitez was only 17 when he won his 1st World Championship(WBA jr welter) against legendary Antonio "Kid Pambelé" Cervantes & it was on his 25th fight, José "Pipino" Cuevas won his 1st word Championship(WBA welter) at the age of 18 against Angel "El Cholo" Espada & Cueva's record at the time was 15-6, Mike Tyson won his 1st World Championship at the age of 20 & had 27 fights & Trinidad also won his 1st world Championship at the age of 20 & it was on his 19th fight!!! & don't give that S H I T that Canelo didn't have much of a amateur career cause Wilfredo Vazquez jr never fought as an amateur & got interested in boxing in his 20's & learned the trade as a pro & won his 1st World Title on his 19th fight & already succesfully defended that title against the #1 contender who was also undefeated!!!Last edited by Tomasio; 09-14-2010, 06:56 PM.Comment
