    Sam Peter deserves our respect

Wlad and his trainier Emmanuel said they are interested in fighting Adamek next. But I just read on ESPN that Tomasz Adamek is going to fight Vinnie Maddalone in November. I'd heard rumors about that before, but now Dan Rafael says Adamek's promoter told him the fight is on.

So that leaves slim pickings for Wlad in December.

It seems all the top ten heavyweight who haven't already been defeated by Wladimir are ducking him. There's David "The Duck" Haye and Alexander "The Coward" Povetkin...and now it looks like even Adamek will choose to fight a journeyman instead of Wladimir.

But there is one heavyweight who fears no man: Sam Peter. He showed tremendous courage on Saturday, taking a terrible beating but never giving up. The ref stopped the fight when Sam finally went down from the accumulation of hard shots.

Sam Peter has a quality badly lacking in many boxers these days: a willingness to fight the best. He deserves the respect of all boxing fans.

Oh, he gave up; he quit trying to win after two rounds and never dug in and went for it once. That said, the rest is true. He gets in with anybody and takes his licks like a man. That deserves respect.

        overrated.

He only took the fight for the money. Had nothing to do with the romanticized integrity you're talking about.

A spot opened up for him to step in and make good bucks and he took it.

        Thats it.

Adamek is more ready than Arreola was to face a Klitschko, yet he has already beaten Arreola and now what...?

People can roll their eyes at Peter's skills in the ring, but you can never fault a man for trying when so many others won't, whatever his motives.

You're just overrating Peter to make the Klitschkos look good.

I thought he gave it all he had. He kept coming after Wlad with those haymakers, even in the 10th round.

He never gave up. He was just taking too many flush, hard punches to gain any momentum for long.

Adamek isn't a fat dude who one worries could get beat by a stiff and blow the shot at a money fight. He can stack a few more chips in Jersey and challenge next year. If they did it at the Garden, U.S. press would have to wake up real quick to a MAJOR New York event for THE Heavyweight title. Do it in Europe and they won't have to block off part of a stadium. That sucker could do 70K. Adamek is getting his feet wet with bigger guys (I've seen him up close; he ain't that big) but he'll take a crack in '11. He's HIGHLY unlikely to win but it will be the best Wlad fight in a long time because Adamek will go for it as long as he can.

I'm not even talking about his skills as a fighter. The thread is about his COURAGE and WARRIORS HEART, something badly lacking in the likes of Haye and Povetkin.
