CBS New York: no money in mayweather

"Mayweather is a small man who makes loud noises. At 33, his dwindling followers reflect his diminishing talent. He was a gifted boxer who toed the verbal line long enough to convince us to punch the “buy” button on the remote. Floyd fights only with his mouth these days, his star fading into a sport that is long past dusk."

    ---
For those under 30, it's nearly impossible for you to believe that boxing was once a divine sport, the apparent paradox of artistic barbarism. But it was.

I don't care about the Floyd criticism, but that last line about the sport bothers me. Will they still say the same thing 10 years from now? Its like some prerequisite that a mainstream article has to trash the sport.

but that doesn not assure us, that majority of the viewers cheer for floyd.

in this article it even said: Boxing, its talent now drained by other sports that pay the same money with half the danger--i wonder the other sport he was refering to is mma.

                your thoughts?
