This is not a thread defending the alleged actions of Floyd Mayweather.

However; I’ve been reading people attack the character of Floyd Mayweather for a few days now. With the alleged incident that happened between Mayweather Jr and the mother of three of his children I couldn’t help to reflex on the countless amounts of boxers who have been involved into scandals such as this.

Of course on boxing scene aka Mayweather bash central one would think these incidents never occurred.
Name of boxers involved in scandals

Miguel Cotto- alleged sexual assault

Mike Tyson- convicted on ****d

Carlos Monzon- convicted of murder

Evander Holyfield- Alleged Domestic Abuser

Arturo Gatti- Alleged Domestic Abuser

Diego Corrales- Alleged Domestic Abuser

Manny Pacquiao- Serial Adulterer and Womanizer and alleged murder for hire conspirator (amongst other allegations)

Edwin Valero- Murderer and Domestic Abuser

Aaron Pryor- Domestic Abuser (mother assaulted)

Pernell Whitiker- Alleged Domestic Abuser/ Substance Abuser

Joe Calzaghe- Substance Abuser

Ricky Hatton- Substance Abuser

Roy Jones Jr- Alleged Dog and Chicken fighter

Don King (promoter)- convicted murderer

Jim Lampley (Sportscaster) Alleged Domestic Abuser

Prince Naseem Hamed- Convicted of Dangerous Driving which paralyzed and nearly killed victim

There are countless other boxing figures who have been involved in scandal similar to that of Floyd Mayweather Jr. Yet so many are calling for this man’s head.

I understand that people make mistakes, some more than others. Some of these people were accused and not convicted of their alleged actions. My question to the boxing scene community is will you denounce every one of these crowd favorites and warriors for their actions as well or will you continue to single out Floyd Mayweather Jr (who as of now still is now an innocent man) and continue to cast stones.?

Feel free to add other boxers to the list.

Sugar Ray Robinson, the most glorified prize fighter - His son vouches Robinson beat his wife to the point where it was a cause for her multiple miscarriages. Made it a hobby to sport f*** b****es while married.

Jake LaMotta - no comment needed.

Joe Louis, the only TRUE American hero - Beat up his wife a few times.

These men make more than most people will ever have in their bank accounts and get glorified for being demons. We should all know the punch is coming and roll with it, so don't be surprised when the beast shows itself outside of the ring from time to time.

Great thread and I totally agree with you!!!!Their hate for Floyd is so great that they will chose to either ignore this thread or somehow excuse these fighters in some way or another....it is truly hypocritical.

In 2002 floyd pled guilty to 2 charges of beating 2 women.
In 2003 another domestic violence charge on another woman (Harris) but she recanted over their kids.
In 2004 another battery charge against 2 more women in a club (suspended sentence and fine), and floyd did community service for assaulting a doorman.
In 2009 a drive-by shooting from his car at the rink and his house was searched.
In 2010, a racist vid and a charge for beating a woman (Harris) in front of the kids, theft, and threatening the kids when the mother screamed to call 911.

Floyd Mayweather Sr.- Convicted of participating in a ******* smuggling/distribution ring, sentenced to 5 years in prison. Found out that he is the father of another boxer, Justin Jones. The DNA test proved positive.

Roger Mayweather- serves six months for the battery of his two children’s grandmother. He knocks out the two bottom teeth of the grandmother. He was fined $200,000 and suspended for year for role in melee at Mayweather-Judah fight. Served another 6 months for a domestic abuse incident. In August 2009, Roger Mayweather was arrested in Las Vegas for attacking one of his former female boxers. Mayweather allegedly hit her several times in the ribs, then tried to choke her, causing her to spit up blood when police arrived.

Great role models. Let's keep this thing going...

You know the difference between Floyd and all the boxers you mentioned?

None of them talk as much **** or invite as much antagonism on themselves as possible like Floyd.

You can't tell me that with all the douchebaggery he's displayed to the public in recent months he didn't have this coming.

Last time I checked, he said he loves all the hate that he receives.

To him it's a sign that he is still relevant.

So come on guys. Turn up the hate a little more.
