Comments Thread For: Juanma, Caballero Not Impressed With Gamboa's Win

Both Juan Manuel "Juanma" Lopez and Celestino Caballero were not impressed by Saturday's performance by the new unified WBA/IBF champion Yuriorkis Gamboa, who won a twelve round unanimous decision over Mexican Orlando Salido in Las Vegas.

    No doubt.

I'd pick Marquez even now to k.o Gamboa with ease.

Gamboa is a hardcore hbo hypejob. This should be evident within the next few years when he's forced to start fighting real fighters.

Its just a matter of time. I'd still fancy gamboa over juanma though. But gamboa isn't what hbo is hyping him up to be, and bob arum.

You think gamboa was impressed when concepcion dropped juan ma? Or when cordoba beat cc? Everyone overeacts after a fight. Settle this **** in the ring

i wasn't that impressed either to be honest this guy salido would've probably been knocked out by juanma before he knew what happened

gamboa' speed a footwork would still cause problems for lopez and caballero but right now i don't think he's quite ready for that step up in class

Any time you have a fighter that approaches his opponents with his hands down it's a recipe for disaster.

Thing is with Gamboa he's done this throughout his career which tells me there's not much improvement as so many claim.

He does do a lot of amateur Shit and I know it's his style but when he puts them hands down, he's just looking to get knocked down at least once a fight it seems, off balance or not .Ismael salas hasn't taught him **** IMO and hasn't improved.
