It'll still happen, hopefully theres not too much politics going on behind the scenes and it is a genuine injury.

I like one other guy on here believes that this postponement is just as big a political issue as it is a physical one, if it's really physical at all. I too believe Showtime wants both fights to occur on or around the same date It makes sense and I hope that's all this is.
This tournament with all it's delay's, disagreements, controversy, etc. is still excellent and the best (and funnest) thing to happen to boxing in a great long while. No other fights carry the weight that the tournament fights do and no other network or fights for that matter offer the type of matchup's this thing does.
I really hope that none of the fighters currently in the tournament are considering jumping ship to take a big marquee fight with another network. There are several things that make me feel as though that's what's keeping the Ward/Dirrell fight from happening.
Everyone is down on Showtime and the tournament right now claiming it to be a failure, etc. These people should be praising both right now as the tournament's given boxing and its fans best matchup's and hype the sport's seen in years. The tournament and it's format are great and neither one is a failure. It's boxing that's the failure here regardless of whether or not Froch's injury is real. The sport is mired in dirty polotics, excess, and money and that's what's doing harm here.
I still hope to see Super 6's in other divisions and on other networks too.Last edited by myau1; 09-13-2010, 07:00 PM.Comment
