Victor Ortiz vs Brandon Rios = DLH vs Vargas

Not sure if Rios' disdain for Victor is genuine or if he's just trying to build himself a "Bad Blood" Super Fight with Golden Boy's would be Golden Boy, Victor Ortiz. Whatever it is, Rios sure knows what he's doing. This fight is a no brainer and you know what, it sells. Imagine the storylines.

They're both Chicano, from Kansas and they've both ended up boxing out of Oxnard, California, Fernando Vargas territory. Brandon fights under Roberto Garcia in his gym, and Victor fights out of La Colonia Boxing Club under Roberto's brother, Danny Garcia. Brandon claims Victor is a "white boy" (even though his name is Brandon, lol); remember Fernando calling Oscar a sellout Mexican?

And there is no reason this fight can't get made at 140lbs, Rios walked into the ring last night as a Jr Middleweight. He's probably naturally larger than Victor. Brandon's got a certain craziness and emotion that reminds me of a young Johnny Tapia.

Anyway, if the two were to get it on, who would you be siding with?

Would this be an Oscar vs Vargas redux?

Agreed that it has to be at 140, catch weight is bollocks after his weight on fight night against Peterson...
Rios would give Ortiz a tough time, before the fight and in the ring, but in the end I think Victor is the stronger boxer and would win, possibly even by stoppage.

hoja lost and Quit against a midget, Ortiz said on live TV, that he didn't want to keep getting his ass beat for a living! Brandon Rios looks like the real thing. Short powerful inside punches, has a good chin, and stamina. Rios kicks Ortizs' ass.

How do you think Rios fares against Maidana or Campbell?

Looks like both Victor and Brandon trained at La Colonia together. I wonder if they ever sparred together. Check out the vid at 35 secs... Brandon looks taller than Victor, and it looks like he's looking over to him... I wonder why he don't like him? Jealousy?

I think people are putting way too much stock in to what he did to Peterson. Petsron fought one of the dumbest fights ever.

Ortiz's speed, jab, southpaw stance and overall boxing ability dominates Rios. Ortiz stops him IMO. Ortiz is no Peterson.

And no catch weight bullshyt fight him at 140 since you called him out.

Seriously. I want to say Ortiz would win rather easily, but if Rios turns it into a firefight would Ortiz be able to handle it.

That's a good question, and one that I would like to see answered in the ring.
