Why do the Klitschkos receive so much hatred?

They are great fighters, both, but I find the biggest problem with them is this above.Originally posted by Freedom FighterYou find all those KOs boring?
I don't.
I know if Wlad were Black, you'd like him better.
If you say "Most of their fights are boring" you cop a mouthful of abuse and accusations of racism.
I like them both but find many of their fights too boring. That's my only major dig at them and the fact that it's a pity they are in such a bad division. But the biggest problem is still the fact that if you disagree with anything, no matter how slight or how ridiculous a comment (such as the win over Peter cements Wlad as the GOAT HW), you get called a white and black hating racist by all their zealot fans.
It's impossible to have a rational, intelligent discussion on them with 90% of their fans because the moment you say anything negative you hate them only because they are white. It has nothing to do with the fact that you might not like their style or you don't happen to agree that they are literally the greatest HW's of all time, it's only because they are white and you're a racist.

I have MAD respect for Wlad... for hooking up with Hayden!
He's one lucky guy, that's for sure.
I don't really care what he does in the ring though, boring-ass style even though he's good of course. The only fighter out there that I'd like him to fight is Haye. And Vitali of course.Comment

Always trying to victimize yourself. Get over it. They're athletically and physically the most superior heavyweight boxers right now.
America's real heavyweights are making more money else where, that's just the way it is, period.Comment

cuz theyre gay and their fans are gayI've been trying to understand why some people obsessively hate the Klitschkos.
Most boxing fans do NOT hate them, and instead appreciate how rare it is for men their size to be so athletic. Few heavyweights have lasted at the top level for so many years, let alone dominate.
People like Teddy Atlas bash them for their fighting styles. How much of that is his mental frustration about not experiencing the pleasure of seeing the men he hates so much get hit and hurt? I think their defensive capabilities bother him and others who want to see them get knocked out.
Anyway here's a poll. I've made this thread to help the Klitschko fans understand the haters a bit better. Maybe the most obsessive Klitschko haters just need a little psychiatric help.Comment

It very well may have, but it wasn't Lewis who got stopped, it was Vitali. End of story. No offense but this point of view is also highly annoying. If you bust up someone's face so badly that half of it is hanging off and they are in danger of severe permanent damage, then it's a straight out legitimate TKO win.
It was a close fight while it lasted but Lewis won by TKO. It's not a 'what if' or "Lewis really lost that fight because he was losing on the score cards and if Lewis hadn't punched Vitali so much that his face was falling off he would have won" scenario because... guess what? It's boxing and if you lose by TKO because your face is badly ****ed up, you lose. That's all. He lost. You can say the same thing about every fight.
"If Holmes was quicker he wouldn't have lost to Tyson" or "If Frazier had better defense he would have beat Ali the third time around" or "If Douglas didn't train as hard he would have lost to Tyson". If that boxer didn't punch that guy he would not have won. It's a tiring view that 'if Lewis didn't punch Vitali to the point that his eye was in serious danger, he might have lost.'
Anyway, they're great fighters in a bad era, which is unfortunate for them. They are doing everything that is possible though and that's all they can do. At the end of the day they might not get the stature they deserve because of it, but at the other end of the day they might also not have been as good in a different era. Very hard to say one way or the other. Would have been good to see them tested properly in a better era though, then maybe it would be more obvious how good they really are and all the racist nonsense would stop.Comment

Firstly i'm not American.
I like Vitali, i enjoy watching his fights. His fight with Lennox was brutal and a classic. He can fight and trade with the best of them.
On the other hand, Wladimir is plain boring. He fights scared and granted he uses his height cleverly...i honestly think he would get knocked in a fight like Holyfield/Bowe or Vitali/Lewis.
Heavyweight champions dont fight scared....Wlad is the only one i've seen who does...so i don't like him.Comment

I love the completely unbiased nature of this poll.
I don't "hate" (FFS!
) the Klitschkos, but let's take just ONE fact about Wlad's fighting style into consideration...
... his latest fights have been regarded as being so crowd unpleasing that even HIS OWN TRAINER told him he was being boring.
Sorry for the simple answer. Of course, I'd prefer him if he was British and black.
