I Know He's Ducking Him But If They Ever Fight...

Honestly Raba I have been watching some of Rafael recent fights and there is no way he beats Lopez. I almost want to say this is a shameful/disgrace of a fight because they are taking on a guy who is a shell of himself.
Lopez and his team should be ashamed of themselves.......Comment

People must be forgetting Juanma was out on his feet and about to get KO'd by Mtagwa in a war he should not have been in, a guy Gamboa disposed of in 2....Not saying Juanma isn't good because the kid has tons of talent...but I think he's pretty overrated and a one decisional puncherComment

1) gamboa fought him at a higher weight than lopez did.
2) triangle theory rarely works in boxing.
its not about what both did to one guy, its what one guy can do to another guy. if gamboa fights lopez, he's not fighting mtgawa again, and vice versa. so bringing those respective fights up does nothing unless a guy like mtgawa does something similar that either guy does.Last edited by AntonTheMeh; 09-12-2010, 04:44 PM.Comment

Lopez could stick and move to take advantage of Rafa's poor footwork, but I think he stands infront of him and completely outboxes him (leading to a TKO stoppage or possible KO).
Lopez and his team should be ashamed of themselves for this fight.....but I guess I can kinda give them props for spotting an easy payday that would somewhat add to his legacy.Comment

Honestly this shouldn't happen. I re-watched Marquez vs Vazquez (first time I looked at it from a fans perspective...such as just wanting to see a good fight) and now that I actually sat down to analize Marquez.....dude is shot to ****. I mean I kinda felt that way the first time, but look how slow his reflexes are and how long it takes for him to lift his glove to block counter shots by Vazquez. Israel was landing at will and Rafa's reflexes were completely off.

I like Gamboa's hand speed in this fight. I think Gamboa's hand speed will be the difference in the fight. As far as power goes, they both have the power to knock the other out. Chin, both of their chins are questionable but I have yet to see Gamboa badly hurt, just flash knockdown. But I have seen Lopez shook and stunned a couple of times for example his fights against the last Fillipino he fought, and Mtagwa. Lopez also likes to get wreckless and trade, if he does that with someone with handspeed and reflexes like Gamboa, he can visit the canvas a couple of times and possibly get stopped. Some of you guys are underrating the importance of handspeed, and how Gamboa has a big advantage in that department over Lopez.
I Gamboa winning this fight. Superior footwork, extremely fast hands, prime Roy Jones-like reflexes. Lopez will meet his first loss against Gamboa, I really think so.
But with that said, I doubt we will see this fight soon. Lopez got a fight with Marquez around the corner. Gamboa will probably fight one more guy and all of this will probably take up to next summer, which is a year away or so.Comment
