WBA recognizing 3 Middlweight Champions now

Felix Sturm as the Super Champion and Gennady Golovkin as the interim champion. Someone really needs to stop all this nonsense. I hope this is a joke:

Editor's note: The WBA recognizes Felix Sturm as its middleweight "super champion" and Gennady Golovkin as its interim champion. Why the WBA let Sturm become the "super champion" even though he never unified his title with another organization's champion is a concept too moronic to justify an explanation. Sturm was inactive due to legal issues for over a year, so we can understand creating an interim title. But now that Sturm just defeated Giovanni Lorenzo over the weekend and hasn't made a mandatory defense in ages, the logical next fight would be Sturm vs. Golovkin, right? Golovkin is certainly willing. However, the WBA wants to leave Sturm as the super champion, Golovkin as the interim titlist and sanction a fight between Hassan N'Dam N'Jkam and Avtandil Khurtsindze for its "regular" world championship.

The alphabet bodies are a joke. They only exist to bleed money out of the sport, not to give the best fighters recognition or credibility. Promoters are only too happy to accept multiple sanctioning bodies with multiple titles, as they can market their fighter as the 'world champion' without risking him against the very best. Real boxing fans only recognise holders of the Ring's world championship as true champions.
