Comments Thread For: Flores: Roy Jones Wasn't Hungry, I'll Expose Danny Green

Unbeaten cruiserweight BJ Flores has vowed to expose IBO champion Danny Green on November 17 in Perth. Flores is not impressed with Green's recent string of first round wins over Roy Jones Jr. and Paul Briggs. He sees Green's opponents as being "non credible" competition.

Flores I would not talk too much if I was you, yes Danny's last fight was a shame BUT his win over Roy was not, you see Roy took him lightly and he got punished, same will happen to you as well if you don't give Green's power more respect!

Roy didnt take anyone lightly. Roy never had great boxing skills, he had exceptional physical gifts. People tend to get those confused. Thats why Hopkins has lasted much longer, and Roy doesn't have his physical anymore, so hes getting killed every time now, where Hopkins is using his ring smarts to keep on getting wins.

I know that was off topic, but just had to get that out there.

Ha Ha Come on !!! Roy Jones in prime would have beaten him with both hands on the back all rounds. Then he could have thrown a jab in the 12 round and won since he could have avoided getting hit all 12 rounds against the pitiful opponent from down under.

Hopkins also proved through the years he is a dirty fighter and fights dirty to win. When that doesn't work in his favor he tries to win that Oscar (Academy Award) acting like he’s hurt when he’s been hitting people with low blows all night like he did in the Joe Calzaghe and Roy Jones fights.

spot on....only reason he's still around is because he's good at spotting two divisions smaller talent...

is that why roy lasted aslong, if not more than the average fighter?

it's about styles, not boxing skills, roy has plenty of boxing skills, but he doesn't want to change his style, a style that depends on reflexes, hopkins fights with a bearhug style, no need for legs or much reflexes

so dont kid yourself, roy is just as smart as hopkins in the ring, you'd know if you've watched him fight

and im sure if it depended on his life he could bearhug someone all night like hopkins as his inside fighting is also very good

That's real talk right there. Jones made adjustments to his style depending on the opponent which did wonders for overall game as of late. Then it seems like after a few wins he starts getting too ****y and start reverting back to the same style. His body can no longer do the things he once could and his opponents have studied him to death.
