That seems to be the popular opinion at the moment. Around this time last year (or at least after JuanMa-Mtagwa) the exact opposite seemed to be the flavor of the month.

I've had Gamboa from jump, flaws and all, and continue to believe it to be true. The thing is, when one looks good or bad, I try to envision how the other would've done against that same opponent.

I wonder how much Mtagwa had left when Gamboa fought him - it was like night and day compared to the JuanMa fight. Lopez doesn't take the best of shots and Gamboa is fast enough, hits hard enough and is experienced enough to make him pay. But damn those flaws!! I thought he looked kinda tired in the middle rounds but then in the latter rounds he flexed good pop. My biggest issue with him is his chin. Even worse, he gives opponents opportunities to crack it. Either way, it would be a great, great fight.

Didnt like the fight at all Cortez had it in for Gamboa no doubt should fking dissapear idc about Salido being Mexican fighter etc but shoving the reff is a big nono bigger then hitting someone on the heat of the action when their down.... Salido bytching on the floor after getting tapped on d neck was hilarious after seeing Rios take it in d balls all night and jst goin yeah fk it lets go!! Fighters heart got 0 to do with where their from..

Gamboa looked over confident And just taking advantage when things happened instead of trying to make them happen thats why he fell trying to throw a left hook out of positiion.. i thought he was getting tired in the middle rounds then by d 10 to d 12th he was firing like a machine gun O.O wtf he would have done that earlier and Salido would have taken an early nap.

Agreed but if he had done that earlier, he may not have had the necessary gas in the tank to fight later.

Mtagwa moved up against Gamboa which might explain how bad he looked.

Also Juanma was having a lot of trouble making 122 at the time. Which affects your stamina and punch resistance.

Penalosa was at 122 De Leon which Gave him the Wow factor was at 122 so either hes wife givin him 2 many chicharrones or that sounds like BS xcuse not to admit what everyone saw.

Possibly. He also seemed a bit shopworn. IDK. I just expected more but then again, Gamboa has the kind of power and speed that can take you out of it early.

There were talks already about Juanma moving up to 126 prior to the Mtagwa fight. Because, he was having problems making weight.

Is like Hasegawa had problems making 118 and had been talking about moving up for awhile now. Even before the Montiel fight and now seems he is moving up to 126. But, yet even knowing this he would squeeze down to 118 for a rematch against Montiel.

However, doing stuff like hurts your stamina and punch resistance.
