The Klits are not overrated in my view, rather overly praised.

People say they get hated on because they are Russians. But the thing is people will say things like they are fighting in a stronger era than what they get credit for and the era they fight in gets underrated.

One question I have is how the hell can you call this a strong Heavyweight era when frigging ancient Evander Holyfield can do good enough to win a belt and get robbed in a lot of peoples' opinions? If the era is so strong then why was John Ruiz still a top five Heavyweight after getting his ass whipped by Jones and Toney? This era of Heavyweights is the worst of all time and I challenge people to prove me wrong.

This isn't a Klit hate thread. If anything, I give both guys credit. People talk about how weak Vladimir's chin is, but I give him his props for not ever quitting in a fight and he kept getting back up and trying to tough it out when Sanders decked him. And Klitchko eliminated that rep of a quitter when he showed the heart he did against Lewis.

I'm just recognizing real and pointing out the fact they don't fight in an era of Heavyweights that's better than what it gets credit for like their hardcore fans claim.

Eddie Chambers and Corry Sanders are top 25 ATG heavyweights, so I don't know what your saying.

Ruiz is not a top 5 heavyweight.

I mean if you look at from a division basis. He was ranked in the top five for a while even after his losses to Jones and Toney is what I mean even if that's not the case now.

They are true Heavy Weights and VERY SMART people inside the ring. Vitali has probably lost less than 5-10 rounds in his entire career. Which other heavyweights were so dominant? People cry about no KO's from them but they beat you over the fight so you have no choice. The reason its boring is because nobody can fight at their level to give them a tough fight so they throw the hard punches. Vitali has highest KO % and least rounds lost in history of HW division.

There are more people that underrate them if anything. And more that say absurd things like "this is the worst era in the history of the division." If that's the case, why isn't 5'7", 168 lb Tommy Burns a top 10 GOAT? Hell the dude had 11 straight title defenses of his undisputed HW crown. Size isn't everything, but it's hard to imagine Burns beating anyone in the top 10 today.

by this logic, its nearly, or IS impossible for anyone to become an ATG HW in the current era. i think this is rubbish. you can watch the klitschkos and know theyd give anyone in any era serious trouble.

resume only goes so far - the rest of the speculation you have to come up with by watching them in the ring, and if you watch these guys in the ring, it is evident they are on a remarkable level.

Agree with a lot of this and where is the hate on Vitali anyways? Almost everyone agrees he's a solid. There are argument about what his resume PROVED/PROVES but, had he not been injured for four years he was on the verge of stardom in the U.S. His PPV #'s with Williams were, as they should have been for that junk, anemic, but he was drawing crowds in the NYC and LA (the two biggest media markets) and making fun fights. The fight with Arreola may have been aided by Chris's LA ties but LA still loved some Vitali.

                Timing sucks sometimes.

I really think that if Eddie Chambers fought in a different era he would have done well and would be highly regarded when spoken of today.

There would be plenty of threads about how this slick technician would give the K-bros hell if he was around today.

They would stand their own against the best ever, see Vitali vs. Lewis. They are very good fighters, not great as in Foreman, or Frazier great but they are dominating their division, its not their fault it sucks in the first place. Doesn't change the fact that they are boring as hell, lol.
