Why is Amir Khan a bigger star than Victor Ortiz?

they are both good looking and speak well.
both have loss but khans loss was much worse
both have a country behind them but ortiz is american too (like oscar)

why is ortiz fighting on undercard for khan?

ortiz was big before he lost to maidana, after that he just became another young mexican prospect, khan lost, but because he was a rare talent in the u..k he was managed well and got back into the bigtime with his title.... golden boy know khan is the bigger draw right now as he has english/pakistani/****** backing, were as ortiz is hated by alot of mexicans who say he has no heart, but his time will come soon hopefully

      how so?

Ortiz is going to fight on his undercard probably because he's still rebuilding his career (blame Golden Boy) and Khan is fighting a bigger fight with Maidana.

Ortiz lost just over a year ago.

Khan lost two years ago. He's had more time to fix himself up and change divisions.

Kotelnik beat Maidana, Maidana beat Ortiz, Khan Beat Kotelnik. Making it seem as Khan would beat Maidana and Ortiz.

            People forget styles make fights

Its because hes ****** and hes british. Not alot of REAL ******s are fighters, You only get to see them once a decade, they too busy blowing themselves up and fighting 5:1 to start training boxing. Props to Khan, he made millions not fighting the best and after getting KTFO still calling the shots. Who knows how long he can milk it for? Hes not fully developed yet and looks like a boy so we will see if he will get a tougher chin or if he will be fighting Featherfisters like Paulie for the rest of his life in the UK.

so that makes him a bigger "star"? I don't follow your logic

Neither one is really a star per say, both are just potential boxing stars who can draw a good crowd...

you dont loose respect for a boxer when he gets knocked out but when your fighter quits like ortiz did,its hard to swallow

i like both fighters and hopefully we get to see them fight next year,if they both keep winning

Because Maidana already popped Ortiz's cherry.

Khan is still the fresh and untapped ******.
