    The Felix Sturm wrap

I really enjoyed watching him fight Giovanni Lorenzo. That guy's jab is as educated as they come. I was quite impressed.

However, I have also seen that he has been pretty lackluster from time to time. Being knocked out by Javier Castillejo is unacceptable, especially an old Castillejo at middleweight. The draw with Randy Griffin was unexpected and not what you would expect from someone who was supposed to be a force in the middleweight division. I've also heard the Gevor decision left quite a bad taste in the mouths of many.

If I were to try to track down a good chunk of Felix Sturm's career, what should I expect to see from him? Am I going to get the brilliant jab from a guy who controls the fight with excellent technique, or am I going to get the guy who goes into a shell and gets outworked?

I don't want to dedicate a bunch of time watching a guy I'm going to be disappointed in.

Manny should move up to 160 and take that meaningless strap Sturm is holding hostage.

Do you need a recommendation? If so you could try the Sylvester fight if you havent seen it.

It's not so much that... I've seen highlights of him just using his jab to beat Sylvester's overrated face in (I can't believe Sylvester was supposed to beat Sturm coming into that fight)...

I'm more interested in his level of consistency. Does he put on that kind of performance every time he comes into the ring? What happens when he doesn't, and how often does that happen?

            personally it does.

Im enjoying every single fight. some would say yeah gevor beat him cuz he outworked him and have done enough to get the W.
but Felix boxes so damn beautifully. he pushed Gevors head Abraham-like. very impressive but couldnt Ko him cuz has no power. but thats not the matter, Abraham has had trouble, Felix didnt. he was very focused and secured about what hes doing.

cant wait for his next fight.

How close is his style to a Dzinziruk or a Kotelnik?

Dzinziruk is one of my favorites, and I really enjoyed watching Kotelnik fight a great fight against Alexander (not a fan of the result though).

The Euro jabbers are an absolute delight to watch for me.

well in general people would say yeah the typical euro fighter with good basics, high-guard, the jab comes first, some would say protected, never fights outside his country

so you can put all three in a pot and judge. the same ****.

of course its similarly, but they are very different style.

Kotelnik can take pressure, cuz he have a good chin and good defense.
hes was robbed 3 times (Alexander, M'baye, Witter) hes not a superstar like Felix is in Germany.

Felix is well-known because of his Oscar fight which he got robbed.
He very confident in what hes doing and you can feel it, and can see it in his style. I cant explain it to you cuz my english-skills arent the best but Im watching him for 5 or 6 years I think, all fights live. I became a fan when I heard hes from Bosnia.
He put on good show, everytime he fight they were a lot of German celebs like last time there were many of the German football team cuz Lucas Podolski is his best friend. I enjoy watching him fight.

I don't think Dzinziruk can punch at all! He grinds out decision after decision on his jab.

If anything, from what I've seen, Dzinziruk is smarter than Sturm... he never lets anyone on the inside of that jab. Sturm lays in his shell a bit too much from what I've seen (which is not very much admittedly).
