yea I agree X that was a good fight, not enough homage for it. I think it's due to those untrue fans who write off fighters after 1 or 2 losses. going by the general consensus on NSB nowadays Jeff Lacy was an over hyped bum who was brought along protected and lost his 1st big test so they will overlook this fight. I personally watched this fight as it aired live and I must have watched it like more than 10 times since and each time I utter out "oooooooooohh!!", that was a war and a treat for any fight fan..

to this day I feel Jeff Lacy's biggest flaw wasn't Joe Calzaghe it was his shoulder injury, without that injury Jeff would have been a monster even after the fight with Joe, he wouldn't have had any reason to hold back punches, a shoulder injury is horrible and can hurt your career just look at Vernon "The Viper" Forrest (R.I.P), his shoulder injury caused him to not be as offensive against Mora the 1st time but in the 2nd when his shoulder was better he actually won the fight, I'm not saying Jeff Lacy would beat Joe Calzaghe in a rematch I'm just saying that the shoulder injury played THE biggest part in the fall of Jeff "Left Hook" Lacy

Didn't the shoulder injury happen in the fight AFTER Calzaghe?

Seriously. Between this fight and Lacy-Robin Reid (I believe), I was really confused. Oh and Rubin Williams. All the dude did was lose rounds then knock the person out with a punch behind the head. Granted, I didn't expect him to lose to Calzaghe that badly but he was just never, ever that good.

yea but to be honest from what I know Jeff had always had problem with his shoulder, I could be wrong but even still I think that even with the beating against Joe regardless of what came 1st regarding the shoulder injury and the Calzaghe fight I think even after that if he didn't have a shoulder problem he would have been a monster..

The Vanderpool fight was a good fight for him, he was very young fighting Syd Vanderpool who was MUCH more experienced, he knew how to pressure Lacy and Lacy didn't fold, he showed the kind of heart i always look for in a young fighter but then the shoulder injury came along and derailed his train

yes he showed major flaws in that fight...but he showed alot of heart and determination..remember it was just his 16th fight..and vanderpool was 35-2 and the ibf#1 ranked fighter
