he is good but what makes him better than roger mayweather, ****m, Stewart etc..?
he is lucky he has Pacquaio at the first place because Manny is hard worker and everyone thinks Roach made a complete fighter out of him.. so now all the young fighters who has potential trains under Roach..

he was a nobody before Pacquaio

Roach's strength lies in his strategy, preparation. Take Mayweather sr, good at improving the fighter technically, but an average strategist, cornerman.

Has the TS heard the story about how Pac had trained at different gyms in the hope someone would take him, that Roach's was the last gym he tried before he was about to head home? if Pac was so talented, then how come he was not pin pointed as a star from the beginning?

Pacquiao do not need Roach at this point now.

I disagree that Pac doesn't need Roach. I don't believe that Manny will continue to be as successful in big fights without Freddie's guidance and strategy.

I will say this though. While Roach has brought Manny a long way, he could still be more technically sound. Pac has a lot of technical flaws that for the time being, his athleticism, speed, and power has more than made up for.

People need to understand that a person can be good to great at what they do and still be overrated and yes I believe Roach falls into that category.

IMO most of the time coaches in any sport are just average but its the talent that they get to coach that makes the coach be considered great. Then you have those once in a generation coaches who takes a guy or team that nobody though was anything and brings something out of them and makes them winners. Yes Roach has done that for Manny but nobody else.

hes a very good trainer. one of the 4-5 best in the buisness.

i dont think its so much roach thats overrated as its some other guys being underrated. steward, beristain, richardson etc. those guys are the best trainers in boxing, particulary emanuel steward doesnt get enough credit for all the great fighters he trained. hes the only trainer active today thats amongst the best ever.

                      imo ofcourse.
