Now one thing that we all forget is that for a long time, KT was recognized as a machine. Funny how he fights an English fighter in Manchester, gets beat, then everyone jumps on the Hatton bandwagon.
As far as Hatton goes, I think he's being given a bit too much credit for his win a couple months ago. Sure he beat Kosta, however his activity and Kosta's inactivity aren't comparable, nor are the dirty tactics that Hatton employed during that fight.
I'm not discrediting Hatton pulling off a HUGE upset, however I don't think he quite deserves the credit he's being given. If the two of them were to fight again, I doubt the outcome would be the same. I honestly think Kosta wasn't in that fight and wasn't in his usual shape.
What do you guys think? I'm sure the Brits are going to flame the hell out of me, but I'm just giving a different viewpoint.
I'd watch some more Tszyu fights if you think that Hatton was dirty. He did nothing in that fight that Tszyu's not done himself, which is why you've heard no excuses from him or his camp. The low blow was retaliation to 2 by Tszyu. Those who say Hatton would have been more severely punished for it in America need to watch the Jirov/Toney fight - same situation, same treatment by the ref.
KT's still a great fighter and I'd back him to win against anyone else at 140 but I'd be surprised if he ever wanted to step in the ring with Hatton again.Comment

Hatton's low blow was intentional, and should have had a point taken. I scored it as a low blow and took the point away, plus I took away a point from Hatton for the knock down in the 7th, and still had Hatton winning the fight at the end of the 11th 101 to 100.
I've watched it a few times and thats really low, i dont see how anyone can say it isnt.Last edited by elveiel; 07-29-2005, 06:20 PM.Comment

OK, maybe not in the middle of a combo, but as you can see, Hatton was trying to punch at the same time and got up in the air a little. I think Hatton was a little weak in the gut, wich also caused the knock down in the 7th.Comment
