    Do you think Jeff Lacy was shot when Roy beat him up?

    Or has Lacy always ******, I think Lacy took some serious beatings before going up against Roy. Not to say Lacy would ever beat any version of Roy but Lacy did get pretty beat up by Calzaghe, took punishment in the Mendoza fight, and Taylor hit him with some hard shots.

      No, he was just never really that good.

      The Calzaghe loss was bad but the Taylor loss, it was just a good technical win for Taylor no beating by any means.

          Taylor was landing bombs on Lacy and had him hurt in some of the rounds!





          I think Lacy got brain-damage in that fight too, because after he lost he claimed he had won the fight...

                      Maybe, we don't know since as soon as Lacy fought a top fighter he got destroyed...

                      I cudda sworn Reed or someone said they spoke to Lou DiBella in person, and Lou said that Lacy is slurring his words...

                          You think he would have done better had the Calzaghe fight never happened?

                          If anything did it, it was the fight with Joe not Taylor and it was nothing physical it was all mental.

                          It would have been better if Joe had more pop and stopped Lacy in a few rounds because he could just in his mind say he got caught and next time he would be ready but Joe beat him up for a full 12 and showed him just how much better he was than him.

                          Mentally he was never the same but I have not seen anything before the Roy fight for me to say he was "shot" compared to another time, he really was never that good, just and ok fighter.

                              He got hit alot in his career, and I think Mendoza came close to stopping Lacy late in their fight. Didn't Lacy like tackle Mendoza because he was off balance/hurt by a shot from Mendoza?

                                  He was pretty much shot after the Calzaghe fight as after that fight. Soon after that he was suffering injuries all the time. Didn't he hurt himself in that fight right after the Calzaghe loss? It's too bad, I thought he had a lot of potential and I enjoyed his fights building up to the Calzaghe fight.
