Because Floyd knew he would be next in line to fight the cash cow Oscar.

I don't think Floyd ever thought Pac would move up 130 to 147 in less than 3 years and be a potential opponent. And Floyd retired about 2 years later. He had nothing invested in Pac when he fought Morales besides a possible bet, or maybe he genuinely is a fan of Pac.
